AREA OF SPECIALISATION AND EXPERIENCE

Graduated from the Superior Institute of Medical Technics of Bukavu and Certified A1 in Agriculture from the Kizito Catholic Institute (D.R. Congo),

She migrated to South Africa in 2008 following political unrest, human rights abuse, and the targeted rape she was about to experience from a rebel officer while she was working in the General Hospital of Reference of Uvira, in the Eastern province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Once in South Africa, with the xenophobic violence of May 2008 consequences on the most vulnerable of the refugee community, she decided to get involved in supporting disabled women and women victims of unfair human rights abuse. She learned the beading arts to train women in vuvuzela beads making arts that became a source of income to many women at risk during the 2010 world Cup in South Africa. She is one of the rare women foreigners that integrated the Zulu culture so well up to becoming a reference of Zulu beading arts producer for the annual Heritage Day in the South of Johannesburg.

Eleonord currently runs a small-scale agriculture program in the South of Johannesburg to cover the basic needs of food in the Redeeming Home for the disabled in Lenasia Ext 10.

She is part of the Women for Africa (WFA) a volunteer organization run by women with a vision to create a community of women supporting each other on their journey of healing, connection, self-discovery, and empowerment (www.wfa.org.za).
